Mark Your Calendar for a Very Important Date: January 4th
This Clean Water Wednesday we have a direct call to action for you citizens. Sussex Health & Environmental Network is planning its first meeting of the year for 2020 and we are looking to involve as many members of the community as possible. We rely on members of the community to come out and make their voices heard as well as bring out other concerned citizens.
The key to improving the water in a community is promoting active citizen advocacy. When citizens start getting actively involved and creating public pressure, change will occur. Clean water is not a red or a blue issue. It is everyone’s issue.
I recently heard Dr. Mohammed Akhter speaking in Sussex County. What he said was so simple, yet so profound. He discussed how water flows anywhere. “Water does not care whether you live in a palace or a hut.” We are all connected through the water and contamination affects all of us. We are here to stand shoulder to shoulder with our neighbors in fighting for clean water for all.
Be sure to join us in our first meeting of the year. The SHEN meeting will be held on the first Saturday in January, the 4th. The location is yet to be determined due to the busy holiday season but will be announced shortly.
Stay tuned Sussex County.
